Our Story
Lee Parker, Founder
There are moments in every woman's life when the life she built no longer fits the person she is becoming.
A career ends, a marriage ends, children grow up, a loss reshapes the landscape of who we thought we were. Sometimes the transition is planned and sometimes it arrives out of nowhere.
Yet our culture offers few spaces to honor these moments.
We celebrate beginnings. We mourn endings. But we rarely make room for the sacred, uncertain space in between.
Root & Return was born from the belief that life's great transitions deserve witness, ritual, and care.
For years, I built a career helping people navigate conflict, uncertainty, and change. As an attorney, mediator, and social worker, I sat with people during some of the most consequential moments of their lives. I learned that beneath every dispute, every transition, and every turning point lies a deeply human question:
Who am I now?
Over time, I came to understand that information alone is rarely enough to transform us. We also need spaces that allow us to release what no longer serves us, name what is emerging, and step forward with intention.
I created Root & Return for women standing at a threshold.
Women who have achieved much and yet feel called toward something more.
Women who have spent years caring for others and are now asking what they want for themselves.
Women who are becoming visible to themselves again.
Our work draws on the universal human practice of marking life's transitions through reflection, ceremony, community, and witness. While we honor traditions from cultures around the world, we do not replicate or appropriate sacred ceremonies. Instead, we create experiences that are personal, ethical, and deeply rooted in each woman's own story and values.
At Root & Return, we believe transformation isn’t really about becoming someone new; it’s about remembering who you have always been.
We help women celebrate who they had to be—and welcome who they want to become.
