The Intent Behind the Heart

Hi, I’m Katie — and I am glad you are stopping by.

I’ve worn quite a few titles in my life — artist, athlete, writer, sister, wife, and energy worker, to name a few. Each one has shaped me and brought me to where I am now. I believe one of the most important things we can do in this life is get to know ourselves — every part, even the messy ones. I also believe that unconditional love and community can work wonders on the soul.

Whatever I do, I try to lead with love and create a space for vulnerability, honesty, and growth. There’s no judgment here — just room to be real.

On a lighter note, I love being out in nature, returning to basics, and living a simple, full life. My husband and I share our home with two amazing dogs — Booter, our Alaskan Malamute, and Andy, our Australian Shepherd. They’re the best fur babies we could ask for… even if they do enjoy knocking over the trash from time to time.

All in all, I enjoy life and do my best to be a positive impact on life and the lives of those around me. Thanks for wanting to know a little bit about me. Read below for my verbiage on Reiki and the Energy Therapies I offer.

With Love,

Katie

Information About Reiki

I found Reiki — or rather, Reiki found me — in January of 2023, and it has transformed my daily life in deeply meaningful ways.

As someone raised Christian, and still very much rooted in my faith and spirituality, I struggled at first. I wrestled with concepts like life force energy, auras, and chakras. Was this… okay? But over time, God spoke to me — in many ways, and more than once — and simply said: Trust me. So I have.

Reiki, I’ve come to learn, is not a religion. It holds no competition or alliance with any specific faith. It is the channeling of universal life force energy — what I often describe to clients as the living spark and flowing current that moves through all things.

And as far as science goes, Reiki isn’t just a spiritual experience — it’s been studied in clinical settings. One study at Hartford Hospital found that Reiki improved sleep by 86%, reduced pain by 78%, nausea by 80%, and anxiety during pregnancy by 94%.

Energy therapy helps the body release stress and enter a state of deep relaxation, which can allow these kinds of healing effects to naturally unfold.

Reiki is not a replacement for medical care. It’s a complement — a gentle way to soften the body, calm the nervous system, and return to a state of rest. I often describe it as physically guided meditation: a moment to step out of fight-or-flight and into a space where your body and mind can rest, release, and realign.

It has changed my life. And if you’ve found your way here, maybe it’s trying to meet you, too.

I’d be honored to share this work with you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions or to schedule a discovery call. I believe healing is for everyone — and if you feel drawn, that’s more than enough reason to begin.

Thank you for stopping by.
